Meet the Leap2 Team

Leap2 would not be possible without a dedicated team of skilled techies and the support of investors, advisors and partners. Here are just a few of the people who have brought Leap2 to life.

Mike Farmer (Co-Founder, CEO)

Mike has worked with new technology ventures at the senior management level for CAP CO2, LLC (Wichita, KS), kozoru, inc. (Kansas City, MO), Aristotle International (San Francisco, CA), Etak-TeleAtlas (Menlo Park, CA), and Rand McNally Corporation (San Francisco, CA). Throughout his entrepreneurial career, Mike has co-founded four new ventures, raised millions of dollars in early-stage capital, authored or coauthored 10 patents, and strategically led the development of a 10 year $600 million dollar technology-based economic development initiative. This act created visionary initiatives including the Kansas Bioscience Authority (KBA), and the Kansas Angel Investor Tax credit.

Mike has an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lally School of Technology and Management, achieving the W. Franklin Spafford Award of Highest Distinction for Academic Achievement. As a Robert Bozzone Fellow, Mike's graduate

Thad Langford

Thad has a history of building transformative businesses within both Fortune 500 companies and early stage ventures.

Most recently Thad served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Zave Networks, an early stage technology venture dedicated to creating a service that closes the loop between online/mobile digital advertising and the sale of the product in brick and mortar retail stores. He redefined the go to market approach and grew the company to position Zave as the leading digital incentive platform provider. This led to Zave’s acquisition by Google in 2011.

Prior to his position at Zave, Thad led several different businesses during his eight year tenure at Sprint in the areas of wireless data, wireless wholesale and local services. Among his accomplishments, he rapidly grew Sprint’s wireless wholesale business unit which led the industry in the MVNO and M2M space. He also spearheaded business development efforts to forge partnerships in the wireless data space, culminating in industry-leading products and services in music, imaging, multimedia, gaming, location and content. In addition, he managed Sprint’s Innovation program to identify and commercialize disruptive products/services in areas such as mobile commerce and founded Sprint Nextel Ventures to invest in game changing start-up companies.

Aaron McKee

Aaron is a veteran in the mobile industry, with senior level management roles with such companies as GroundTruth/Umber Systems, Motricity, InfoSpace, and Sprint. Currently, Aaron is responsible for managing Ground Truth’s business relationships with mobile operators and other partners. Before this role at Motricity, Aaron served InfoSpace as director, partner development, where he was responsible for all facets of relationships and account development with mobile operator clients.

Before joining InfoSpace, Aaron spent six years in various roles at Sprint, most recently as senior manager, business development, where he developed strategies to deliver business-facing products and services globally, including Sprint’s WLAN initiatives. He was also an integral part of the leadership team that led the strategy, development, launch and management of the first wireless Web service in North America, Sprint PCS Wireless Web, and the world’s first commercial mobile search service via Sprint PCS Wireless Web partnership with Google.

Aaron earned an M.B.A. in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. Fellow, Mike's graduate

Dan Carroll

Dan is the Senior Vice President of Digital at Icon International (Omnicom). Dan is also the founder and CEO of AdPredictive, an innovator in the field of “demand‐side” advertising platforms.

Dan has worked for Utne Reader magazine, the economic public policy think tank Growth and Justice and in labor organizing with SEIU. He currently serves as an adviser to on the board of AdPredictive,Leap2, Ice Mate and AgLocal.

Dan holds a B.A. in English and Urban Studies from St. Olaf and has completed some graduate work in business and design at Stanford University. Dan holds patents in digital media distribution and is a writer and speaker on the issues of privacy, media influence and recommendation.
